Necessary storage is used without asking, because the site cannot remember your choice, keep a signed-in account signed in or hold a shopping cart without it. It is never used to follow you across websites.

Current scope

Hellstain does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Page views are counted without cookies or any other storage in your browser (see the privacy notice). Optional storage is limited to remembering your theme choice and whether embedded Spotify, YouTube, and map media may auto-load.

Necessary

Stores whether you allowed preference storage so the site can remember and respect your choice, including whether third-party media may auto-load. Kept for 180 days.

Only set once you add something to a cart in the webshop. Holds the id of your cart in the EU or the Norwegian store, so it is still there when you come back or switch language. Kept for 30 days.

Only when signing in

hellstain_portal

Set when an artist signs in to the artist portal, and keeps them signed in for up to 7 days. Removed when they sign out.

Only set for Hellstain staff who are signed in to the site's content management system. They keep the staff tools switched on for up to 12 hours, remember that the browser has been used by staff (up to a year) so the tools can switch on again by themselves, and show unpublished drafts when staff ask for it (up to an hour). Staff mode also uses two session storage entries, hellstain-staff-opt-out and hellstain-staff-bounced, which disappear when the browser is closed.

Preferences

Only stored if you allow preference storage. It remembers your chosen light or dark theme across visits, as a cookie kept for a year and in your browser's local storage.

Spotify, YouTube, and embedded map previews are blocked until you activate them, unless you have allowed preference storage. When preference storage is enabled, those embeds may load automatically on later visits. Once activated, those services may store their own cookies or similar identifiers under their own responsibility.

Use the footer button to change your cookie setting whenever you want. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser, but the footer control is the intended withdrawal path for this site.
